Terrific Twists On Hot Chocolate
Try These Delicious Hot Chocolate Twists
Hot chocolate is one of those sweet and homely warm winter drinks that can stir up excitement in any household. From cherry chocolate aromas to sweet sips, they’re perfect for those nippy winter evenings by the fireplace. They’re also fun and easy to make, so you can get your kids involved. Have a look below at our favourite twists you can put on your next mug of hot chocolate, with the help of your little ones.
Add a Pinch of Peanut Butter
This is an absolute treat that you have to try at least once! Add a scoop of your favourite smooth peanut butter to each mug of hot chocolate. Stir until the peanut butter has properly melted, and get ready for a creative combination of flavours that you and your family will love.
Add a Scoop of Coffee or a Shot of Espresso
This one’s for us caffeine-loving parents – you’re going to love sipping on one of these after a long day’s work. Add a scoop of instant coffee or a shot of espresso to your hot chocolate. This will add a bitter-but-brilliant coffee kick to your mug and fill the room with a delicious combination of sweet and aromatic smells.
Add a Dollop of Caramel
Add a tasty tablespoon of caramel sauce, or alternatively, a spoon of condensed milk to your hot chocolate for a sweet kick. We recommend that you avoid making this tasty treat for your little ones before bed, as it will give them a sugar rush.
Add a Scoop of Ice Cream
Sounds a bit weird, doesn’t it? But don’t knock it till you try it. Adding a scoop of ice cream to your loved ones’ hot chocolate will add a creamy, thick and flavoursome element, as well as a contrast between hot and cold that will excite their taste buds like never before.
Top tip: make sure your hot chocolate is nice and hot before adding the ice cream so it melts in seconds.
