With a slight tingle of heat and a kick of garlic, this easy family pasta dish is topped with crunchy toasted breadcrumbs, fresh parsley and lemon zest. Be sure not to stir the sauce too much while it is cooking, as this will break up the pilchards.

- 500 ml water
- 1 sachet (50 g) Knorr thick white onion soup
- 150 g baby spinach leaves
- 60 ml cream
- 2 slices brown bread plus 30 ml oil
- 60 ml finely chopped parsley
- finely grated fresh lemon zest
- 250 g linguine or spaghetti
