Robertson’s Deletion of Winner's Information

Terms & Conditions

This Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Unilever South Africa, hereinafter referred to as "the Promoter," and the participant identified as the winner of the #FindTheMeInEveryMeal competition, hereinafter referred to as "the Winner."

WHEREAS, the Winner has participated in and been selected as the winner of the #FindTheMeInEveryMeal competition (the "Competition"), and the Promoter has collected the Winner's personal information in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Competition; and

WHEREAS, the Promoter is committed to complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"), and ensuring the privacy and protection of personal information.

By entering the #FindTheMeInEveryMeal competition, you ("the Participant") agree to the following Terms & Conditions set forth by Unilever South Africa ("the Promoter").

Prizes

The following prizes are available to be won in the #FindTheMeInEveryMeal competition:

1. A selection of Robertsons Spices & Merchandise (as seen on TV)

2. A Custom Scrabble Board Game

3. Exclusive tickets to the Big Brother Mzansi finale event

Eligibility

To enter this competition, participants must be residents of South Africa, aged 18 years or older, and must meet any other criteria outlined in the specific promotional material or communications regarding the competition.

NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:

1. Collection of Personal Information
The Promoter acknowledges that, during the course of the Competition, the Winner's personal information (including but not limited to full name, contact details, identification number, and any other relevant information) may have been collected.

2. Purpose of Data Collection
The personal information was collected solely for the purpose of administering and managing the Competition, including verifying eligibility, selecting the Winner, and delivering the prize.

3. Deletion of Personal Information
The Promoter agrees to securely delete all personal information related to the Winner no later than [31 days] following the announcement and prize distribution to the Winner. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • All digital records stored in databases, emails, or any other electronic format.
  • Any physical copies of documents containing personal information.

4. Confirmation of Deletion
The Promoter will provide written confirmation to the Winner that their personal information has been deleted in compliance with POPIA. This confirmation will be sent to the Winner’s registered email address.

5. Non-Disclosure
The Promoter further agrees not to share or disclose the Winner's personal information to any third party, unless required by law or with the express consent of the Winner.

6. POPIA Compliance
The Promoter agrees to comply with all relevant provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), to ensure that the processing, storage, and deletion of personal information are carried out in accordance with the law.

7. Indemnity
The Winner agrees to indemnify the Promoter against any claims or liabilities that may arise from the collection, storage, or deletion of personal information, provided that the Promoter has adhered to the requirements of this Agreement and applicable laws.

8. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction], including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013.
